"Science is a way of investigating, understanding and explaining our natural world, physical world and wider universe" (NZ Curriculum).
Students need to lean what science is and how scientists work as well as scientific knowledge.
Science programmes at Eastern Hutt aim to provide hands on investigations that will develop students' curiosity of the world around us and an interest in science.

Parts of a flower
The Year 5 and 6 Science Club students were the first to use our new microscopes this week.
We brought in a collection of flowers which we first dissected into the different parts.
Then we carefully observed the different parts under the microscope. We were amazed at what we saw.

Eastern Hutt school is a School Gen school which means we care about our environment and have solar panels on our roof to make electricity from the sun.
Have a look at how much electricity we are producing by looking at our school on the School Gen website.
