"Science is a way of investigating, understanding and explaining our natural world, physical world and wider universe" (NZ Curriculum).
Students need to lean what science is and how scientists work as well as scientific knowledge.
Science programmes at Eastern Hutt aim to provide hands on investigations that will develop students' curiosity of the world around us and an interest in science.

Parts of the eye
Do you know which parts of your body help you to see?
Well the clever Year 3 students now do. The answer is:
The Eye
The Brain
This week they have been learning the names of the parts of the eye. The words are pretty tricky but they did really well.
Here is a labelled diagram of the main mains of our eye. If you want to find out more about the eye you can look at this website:
Eastern Hutt school is a School Gen school which means we care about our environment and have solar panels on our roof to make electricity from the sun.
Have a look at how much electricity we are producing by looking at our school on the School Gen website.
